Jules Joseph Cousin, Sr.

Jules Joseph Cousin, Sr., departed this world on July 26, 2018, at St.Tammany Parish Hospital at the age of 78. He was born on September 23, 1939. Beloved husband of 59 years of his high school sweetheart, Emma Miller Cousin. Loving father of Jules Joseph Cousin Jr. (Beverly), Jolie Cousin Everhardt, and Andree’ Agnelly (Jeff). Devoted grandfather of Drs. Joshua Cousin (Leonela), Evan Cousin, Joel Agnelly, Jacob Agnelly, JoLyn Everhardt, and Jobe Everhardt, who brought him much and joy lit up his room whenever they entered. Loving brother of Albert Joseph Cousin, and brother-inlaw of Rosalie (Wayne) Oubre and the late Charles Miller Jr. (Peggy Miller Gardner). Jules is also survived by many nieces and nephews, whom he cherished. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Cousin and Lucille Cousin. Jules was raised in St. Bernard Parish and graduated from Holy Cross High School. He moved to Braithwaite after marriage where he raised many animals and enjoyed farming until the destruction of Hurricane Isaac. Following the hurricane he moved to Covington. He worked for St. Bernard Bank (Chalmette), Kaiser Aluminum for 18 and a half years (Chalmette), and retired as a Lieutenant with the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office after 28 years of service. He was also a member of the Army National Guard for 8 years. He was loved by all and loved all animals. Relatives and friends attended a Memorial Mass on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 501 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA, followed by a Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St. Francis Animal Sanctuary Adoption Center, 813 Florida St, Mandeville, LA 70448. Arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home of Covington, LA.
