Scott “Big Scottie” Paul Lopez, Sr.

Scott “Big Scottie” Paul Lopez, Sr., cherished son of Frank and Joyce Phelps Lopez of St. Bernard, passed away on June 17, 2018 at the age of 54. He was the wonderful husband of Sherri Byrd Lopez. Wonderful father of Scott “Lil Scottie” Paul Lopez, Jr. and his wife Shana Gonzales Lopez, and Shannon Lopez Geraci and her husband Cody Geraci. Grandfather of Brody and Brees Geraci, and Scotlyn and Lane Lopez. Brother of Pamela Lopez Jackson and her husband David Jackson. Son-in-law of Richard and Carole Chastant Byrd. He was the Godfather of Ryan Montelongo, Raevin Jackson, Dylan Alfonso and Alexis DiVincenti. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. Scottie was the owner/operator of Frank and Sons Boat Rental and commercial fishing was always his passion. He was a proud “Papa” to his four grandchildren, and was never happier than when he was spending time with his family. Scottie was born and raised on Delacroix Island, where he spent most of his days, and where his heart will reside forever. He loved being on the water and spent time on his boat as often as he could. Scottie had a generous and loving heart and was a pure joy to be around. He was never seen without a big smile on his face. He will forever be deeply loved, missed and cherished by his family, and everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. A visitation will be held for Scottie on Friday, June 22, 2018 at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., in Chalmette, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2621 Colonial Blvd, in Violet, at 4 p.m. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery. Althea L. Loetzerich of Slidell, LA passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the age of 90. Wife of the late Roy A. Loetzerich. Mother of Joseph Michael Loetzerich (Tammy Neagle), and Sharon Ann Livaccari. Daughter of the late Rene and Ethel Laubersheimer. Sister of the late Stanley J. Laubersheimer, the late Rene J. Laubersheimer Jr., and the late Rosemary E. Dembrum. Survived by her Grandchildren Matthew Neagle, Zachary Neagle, Robin Star, Ashley Loetzerich, Joseph Edward Loetzerich, Timmothy Livaccari II, and Katie Livaccari. Also survived by seven great-grandchildren. A native of New Orleans, a long time resident of Chalmette, and a resident of Slidell since 2005. Private graveside services were held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Slidell.

Francis H. Lawrence, Sr. passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at his residence in Baton Rouge at the age of 89. He was a native of Meraux, LA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired mechanic with Greyhound Bus Lines with 27 years of service. Francis was a member of Maranatha Fellowship Church of God in Baton Rouge. He is survived by his son Harry Lawrence and daughter-in-law Johnette Lawrence, grandchildren Matthew Lawrence and Wendi Lawrence Wilkinson (husband Kyle), great-grandchildren Angel Lawrence, Christal Lawrence, Adyn Wilkinson, Harper Wilkinson, Scout Wilkinson. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by his wife Virgie Phillips Lawrence, parents Paul and Myrtle Lawrence, a sister Thelma Waguespack, brothers Paul, Eddie and Gerald Lawrence. A memorial service for Francis and Virgie will be held at a later date. Rabenhorst Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Charles Clifford “Cliff” Lawless

Charles Clifford “Cliff” Lawless entered peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, June 11, 2018 in the presence of his two sisters at the age of 70. Cliff was born December 31, 1947, to the late Charles and Henrietta Lawless. He was the brother of the late Michael Lawless. He is survived by his sisters Patricia “Bunny” Menard, Sheila Imbornone (Dominick), his two nieces Michel Aguilar (Luis) and Jill Coffee, his great nieces Emma and Lucie and great nephews Cole and Logan. He will be fondly missed and remembered by a host of family and friends. Cliff was a native of New Orleans, long time resident of Arabi, and at the time of his death he was a resident of Mandeville. He was employed by Local 1497 Clerks and Checkers Union for 35 years. Family and friends attended the visitation at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home on Sunday June 17, 2018 and Monday June 18 and Funeral Mass afterward. Interment followed in St. Patrick Cemetery #1. Jack Perez Kelly passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Louisiana at the age of 52. Jack fought a courageous battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He was born November 6, 1965, in New Orleans, LA. Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Lorraine (Lori) Simon Kelly. Jack was the proud father of Daniel John DiMarcantonio, Olivia Kathleen DiMarcantonio, Cameron Jack Kelly, Sarah Nicole Kelly and Matthew Joseph Kelly. Jack was the only brother of Aileen Marie Kelly, the only son of Joyce Henry Kelly and the late Jack Perez Kelly. Jack was a native of St. Bernard Parish and a resident of Tangipahoa Parish for the past 12 years. In 1984, Jack graduated Nunez Community College as an Emergency Medical Technician and served in both St. Bernard and New Orleans. Jack was employed as safety training coordinator and remote site paramedic for Shell Off-shore. He was last employed by Excel Modular Scaffold as a Site Safety Manager in Canton, Ohio. Jack was a supportive family man who took tremendous pride in providing for his family. He truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. He was a die-hard Saints fan and so enjoyed playing outdoor activities with his family. Relatives and friends of the family attended a Memorial Service at Christian Life Assembly of God, 2575 Veterans Avenue, Hammond, LA 70403 on Monday, June 18, 2018. Oscar "Big O" Williams, Jr., Age 79, departed this life peacefully at his home with his loving wife on Monday, June 18, 2018. Beloved husband of Marion Lenaris Williams. Son of the late Oscar Sr. and Rena Parker Williams. Loving father of Regina Williams, Shelita Diakite, Garland Williams, Sr., James Williams and the late Vontrell Bienemy. Stepfather of Charles Jones, Jr. and Desiree Jones. Brother of Authorine W. Miller, Jeannie W. Bienemy, Clara W. Harvey, Rena W. LaFrance, Cherlynn W. LeFlore and the late Melvina W. Picquet. Also survived by eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. William Joseph Villavaso, Jr. ("Bill Murphy"), age 75, left this life peacefully on June 20, 2018 in Slidell. He is survived by his wife, Renee (Merrant); his children, Sean and Christina (Robert Bigelow); 8 grandchildren; and his beloved dogs (4) and cat (1). He was predeceased by his parents, Cecile L. and Lamont T. Murphy (Skinny). No one rescued more animals than him and he loved every one of them. He loved life and people and he lived fully. Anyone that ever met "Mr. Bill" left with great memories of at least one of his stories. Now, he's telling them in heaven. Marian Couture Serigne, a retired secretary, died Monday, June 25, 2018 due to health complications. Mrs. Serigne was 90 years old. She was the daughter of her deceased parents Edward "Bill" Couture and Marie Molero Couture, and her deceased brother Clifton "Buddy" Couture. Survivors include her son Brooks (Yolande) and daughter Tracy (Adrian) Montalbano. She was loved and known as Granny to her beautiful grandchildren Shelly (Kenny), Brandon, Brooks and Blake. Her great grandchildren Jordyn (Lee), Jasmyn, Kennedy, Kenny, Michael and Kaylynn. She was the godmother to Cliff Couture, Jr., Allan Molero and Bonnie Chaplain Jacoby. Marian was a very devout Catholic and volunteered many hours at San Pedro Catholic Church. She loved going to the casino, playing bingo and spending time with her family around the holidays. Marian was employed with the St. Bernard Parish Government, St. Bernard Parish Water Board and Bergeron Industries. On behalf of the family, we would like to thank Lakeview Regional Medical Center, Forest Manor and Brookdale for all of their services and support. A special thank you to Tammy Alonzo for assisting with her needs at the hospital. Deborah Savage Roger passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, LA. Debbie fought a nine-year courageous battle with cancer. Born, Thursday, January 17, 1952 in New Orleans, LA to Clifton A. Savage, Sr. and Shirley Jacob Savage. She leaves behind her high school sweetheart and husband of 47.5 years - Robert “Bobby” Roger, Sr. and the pride of her life, her two great children, Robert "Bobby" Roger, Jr. and Dana Roger (Monty Ortego). She will be greatly missed by her grand dogs, nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was predeceased by her father - Clifton A. Savage, Sr., mother - Shirley Jacob Savage, and sister - Kathleen Caramonta. Debbie was born and raised in New Orleans, a longtime resident of Chalmette, LA where she and Bob raised their family. After Hurricane Katrina, Deborah became a resident of Picayune, MS until her death. Relatives and friends were invited to attend a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at E. J. Jack D. Robinson, loving and beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed peacefully, surrounded by family, on June 10 ,2018 at 84 years of age. Jack is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lucy Catalano Robinson He is also preceded in death by his father, George Taylor Robinson and mother Maudie Redenia Simms Robinson and all of his siblings, brothers Sanford, Ely, Trell, and Aaron and sisters Lillian, Callie, Georgie, and Myrtle. Jack leaves behind a wonderful legacy. He is survived by his loving family. His son, Terrell Anthony Robinson (Andrea), daughter Debra Presley (Dave). Also survived by his grandchildren, Terrell Anthony Robinson, Jr. (Amanda), Colleen Robinson, Jordan Presley, and Josh Presley; and great-grandson, Viktor Robinson. Jack was born in Ellisville, Mississippi on Feb. 5th, 1934, poorer than the dirt he broke, plowing behind a mule at age 8, yet he grew into a devoted husband and father, rich in friends and love of his family. Provider, protector, teacher, and friend. A man of good humor and great strength. He had the ability to make friends easily. He made a treasure trove of them throughout his long and accomplished life. After leaving farming he lied about his age and became an employee of Kaiser Aluminum in Chalmette, starting as a pot operator before moving up to being a top crane operator (he so loved that air-conditioned cab). He then settled in Arabi, La. with his wife, Lucy, where they raised their children, Terrell and Debra. After his retirement from Kaiser, he operated the crane for Hall-Buck Marine and yet another retirement. A hard worker, Jack was also a capable carpenter, specializing in finishing work. After moving to Chalmette, he became a parishioner of St. Mark Catholic Church and a member of the Marksmen Club, serving as president for a term. His list of friends grew. Family and friends were welcomed to join in celebrating the life of a remarkable man at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, 2320 Paris Rd in Chalmette, LA, on Monday, June 25, 2018, followed by a noon Mass celebrated by Father Bob Masset. Interment was at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens, 701 W. Virtue St. in Chalmette.

Loving mother of Janet Thurman, Robert Pell Jr. (Lorraine) and Steve Pell. Daughter of the late Joseph Provenzano and Caroline Romano Provenzano. Sister of Joseph Provenzano, Robert Provenzano, Carolyn Sigur and the late Frances Cuccia. Proud grandmother of Tanya Thurman, Shirley Thurman, Albert Thurman Jr. Robert Pell III (Michelle), Kathleen Sonier (Robert) and Crystal Shuff (George). Great grandmother of Kali, George and Sophia. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Shirley was born on March 15, 1927 in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. She will be forever remembered for her amazing cooking, especially her crawfish bisque, for those lucky enough to make the list. Joseph E. Moore passed away on June 17, 2018 at the age of 67. He was the beloved husband of Jeanne Wirth Moore for 13 years. Loving father of Kenny Moore (Raven), Daniel Moore (Allyson), Katie Moore Desselle (Zack) and Malaki Moore. Stepfather of Jeannie, Lisa and Cheryl. Son of the late Floyd Moore and Melrose Hueschen Moore. Brother of Sylvia Berthelot (Terry), Betty Kramer (Bruce) and Fredrick Moore. Uncle of Lisa, Kevin, Brian and Becky. Proud grandfather of Liam, Evi, Addyson, Emma, Jordyn, Jade, Shae, Lacy, Michael, Kai, Brandon, Krystal, David, Stephanie and Baby Boy due in August. Also survived by 5 great grandchildren. Joseph was born on August 18, 1950 in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. He graduated Cum Laude from Loyola University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He has been a dedicated deputy with the St. Bernard Sherriff’s Office for 20 years. He never left during Hurricane Katrina and was dedicated to the rescue, recovery and rebuilding of St. Bernard Parish. Joseph was also co-owner of Tony’s hardware and spent many days working long hours to build the family business. He will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his family and friends. Daniel "Capt. Dan" Lemoine

Daniel "Capt. Dan" Alan Lemoine, beloved husband of Elizabeth Genovese Lemoine, proud father of Craig (deceased), Todd (Jodi), Eric (Jennifer), and Danielle (Glen). Cherished "Papa" of his 8 grandchildren, Brandon, Baylee, Ian, Nicholas, Ryleigh, Gaven, Talon, & Quinn. He went to be with his Lord on June 19, 2018 at UMC in New Orleans, surrounded by his devoted wife & children. We did not leave his side for 9 days after being struck by a car while riding his motorcycle. Capt. Dan was born to the late Anthony, Sr. and Edna Mae Lemoine at Port Hueneme Naval Base in California and was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish. He was married to his high school sweetheart for 51 years. The family suffered the loss of their beloved first son, Craig, whom was struck by a car as well on December 26, 1985. Dan's most cherished times were spent with his children, grandchildren and riding his motorcycle. Dan was a proud graduate of Chalmette High School, class of 1965. After graduation, he entered the Merchant Marines then joined the Navy. After attending radio school, he became a radio disc jockey for WCKW for "Dan's Round Round of Sound." Dan was the manager of K&B Drugs for 20 years before opening Capt. Dan's Cleaners. He was a commissioned officer with the St. Bernard Sheriff's Dept. For the past 18 years, he worked in the funeral industry until the time of his death. His passion was riding motorcycles for the past 60 years. He traveled over 1 million miles across the country, taking his children in tow, all as he described while "having a good one." Dan prided himself as a safe driver & had not had a motorcycle accident until now, due to the negligence of another driver. Capt. Dan is also survived by his very special "Uncle Dennis" who he cherished like a father and his childhood friend Charles Mayaux, his only brother Anthony "Tony Lemoine, Jr, his sisters, Yvette Siebenkittel (Dave), Carol Gillian (AJ), many nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to especially thank the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Dept, St Bernard Parish Fire Dept, Acadian EMS and especially the exceptional medical staff of the Trauma ICU at UMC in New Orleans. Vernon “Duke” Besse, Sr. passed away on June 21, 2018 at the age of 71. He was born in Minden, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. He was preceded in death by his Father, George J. Besse; his mother, Willie Belle Besse and his sister, Esther Weldon. Duke is survived by his devoted wife and companion of over 50 years, Susan M. Besse. Also survived by his loving children, daughter Patricia Faye Dantoni (Bruce) and son, Vernon “Duke” Besse, Jr. Also survived by his sister, Georgia Faye Marchetta and special Brother-in-law, Joseph Marchetta. Proud grandfather of Kacie, Nicky, Kara, Jacob and Katie. Great-grandfather of 5. Duke’s passions in life were family, country, sports and a special love of animals. A 1964 graduate of F. T. Nicholls High School and Class “A” Waual School, Memphis, TN in 1965. A US Naval Veteran attached to Attack Squadron 65, serving on board the USS Constellation during the “Vietnam” conflict. Earning the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (second award), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal (1960 - ), Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon and State of Louisiana Veterans Honor Medal. Duke was a lifetime Saints fan, and season ticket holder. An avid racquetball player and supporter of the sport, former vice chairman of the Louisiana Racquetball Association. Also former vice president of the Chalmette Track Club. Active member of the Vietnam Service Association, the Blue Water Navy Association, World War II Museum, American Legion, Wounded Warriors and long time member of the Humane Society, HSUS, and VFW. Relatives and friends attended a memorial visitation on ­ Thursday, June 28, 2018 at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., in Chalmette. Kimmy Lynn Manuel departed life on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at her home in Violet LA, at the tender age of 42 after fighting a six-year earthly battle with cancer. Beloved daughter of Helen Ross Trufant and Lucien Manuel, Sr. Stepdaughter of Barbara Manuel and Leon Trufant. In union with Tedrick Williams Sr. Devoted mother of Ta’Mere, Tedrick Jr. and Ty’Rek Williams. Sister of Adasha (Nuraud) Thomas, D’Jaun (Roniece) Manuel and the late Lucien Manuel Jr. She also leaves behind a sister from another mother, Georgetta (Terrol) Rose, and step-siblings: Jacqueline Brock, Rockell Etienne, Roxane Johnson and Kennedy Washington. Sharing her memories are nephews Auraud and Adaire ­Thomas, niece Harmony Manuel, in-laws Aleece (Sterling) Doucette and Frederick Williams, devoted friend Louis Bradley and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends who also cherish her memories. Relatives and friends of the family, members of both St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church and St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, West Jefferson Cancer Center, Egan Hospice Service, and Faculty of Chalmette High School attended a visitation and Celebration of Life Service on Tuesday June 26, 2018 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church located at 133 Bradish St., Ironton, LA 70083, where Rev. Herbertine "Tina" Patcheco peacefully entered the gates of Heaven on June 19, 2018 while surrounded by her loving family at the age of 71. Tina was born December 6, 1946 in Buras, LA to the late Adam and Marie Jeanne “Mary” Patcheco. She was preceded in death by her brother Adam “Yockey” Patcheco Jr. (Patricia) and is survived by her sister Wanda Waguespack (Mike). Tina was married to the late Stanley Lang. Tina was the mother to 3 loving sons, Gilbert Sanchez Jr (Cherie), Michael “Chico” Patcheco (Deena), and David “DJ” Dennis Jr (Misty). She is survived by eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren who she loved with all her heart. Tina loved the Lord and cherished going to mass on Sundays and volunteering at the O.L.P.S. Adoration Chapel each week. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her main goal was to make sure she left them with fun and loving memories. She always enjoyed helping others, spending time with family and friends, laughing, and always wore a smile on her face. “To know her was to love her.” Tina leaves to cherish her loving memory her sister, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends who will miss her greatly. ­ Thee Patcheco family would like to thank everyone for their love, support, and prayers during this difficult time. Deborah Savage Roger passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, LA at the age of 66. Debbie fought a 9-year courageous battle with cancer. She was born on ­ Thursday, January 17, 1952 in New Orleans, LA to Clifton A. Savage, Sr. and Shirley Jacob Savage. She leaves behind her high school sweetheart and husband of 47.5 years - Robert “Bobby” Roger, Sr., and the pride of her life: her two great children, Robert “Bobby” Roger, Jr. and Dana Roger (Monty Ortego). She will be greatly missed by her grand dogs, nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was predeceased by her father - Clifton A. Savage, Sr., mother - Shirley Jacob Savage, and sister - Kathleen Caramonta. Debbie was born and raised in New Orleans, a longtime resident of Chalmette, LA, where she and Bob raised their family. After Hurricane Katrina, Deborah became a resident of Picayune, MS until her death. Relatives and friends are attended a visitation and funeral service on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at E. J.
