Alverta S. Walton passed away at her home on Friday, September 23, 2016 at the age of 100. She was the beloved wife of the late John Carl Walton. Daughter of the late John Frederick Schrieffer and Elizabeth Rideau Schrieffer. Sister of the late Mildred Hatfield, Irma Holley, Edith Krennerich and Althea Schrieffer. She is survived by five nieces, three nephews, many great, great great and great great great nieces, nephews and Pauli, Matthew, Sarah and David. Alverta was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish and a current resident of Slidell, LA. She was a lifelong member of the Eastern Stars, Rachel Jackson Chapter 241. Deborah Leah Stein went home to heaven on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 10:37 a.m. after being diagnosed with cancer on August 28, 2016 at the age of 68. Beautiful and compassionate mother to Jessica Mendez Bushrod (Jermon Bushrod) and Jennifer Liza Encardes (Christopher Encardes). Proud grandmother of Jermon Terrell Bushrod Jr. and Jayla Leah Bushrod, Ava Lynn Encardes and Carter Christopher Encardes. Her loving companion and soul mate of 24 years Leonard Guidroz who loved Deborah with his entire heart and soul. Preceded in death by her father Walter Stein Sr.; mother Ruth Stein and brother Walter Stein Jr. Deborah leaves behind her caring and loving brother Kenneth Stein Sr.; as well as a niece Karen Stein Doran (husband John Doran, daughter Nichole Nunez and son Seth Doran); nephew Kenneth Stein Jr.; step mother to Aimee Guidroz, Shelly Guidroz and Dana Case; as well as 10 step-grandchildren and one great-stepgrandson. Deborah lived a life of passion and devotion to her family who will miss her dearly. She lived life to the fullest and shared her heart and friendship with a plethora of people from around this entire Earth. If you ever met Deborah you were a friend for life. Former State Representative Reed Stephen Henderson passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the age of 63. He was the beloved husband of 34 years to Hope Martin Henderson and the late Deborah Desselle Henderson. Loving father of Joshua Reed Henderson, Eric M. Henderson (Joelle), Zachary S. Henderson, and Heather Henderson DuBose (Daniel). Son of the late Ashley and Kathleen Cantrell Henderson. Brother of Janice Doran (the late John Jr.) and Ashlie Rodriguez (Roland “Roddy”). Proud grandfather of 10: Elijah Reed, Kate, Noah, Tristan, Lyla, Logan, Isabella, Zoe, Abigail, and Grant. Uncle of John Doran III, Ashley Doran Powell, Ross Rodriguez, Dane Rodriguez, and the late Kurt Rodriguez. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Reed enjoyed a long career of civil service to his community and devotion to his church. He was a licensed stockbroker, commodity trader, St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Deputy and entrepreneur. He honorably served as a Louisiana State Representative from 2008 – 2012 for District 103 and was currently serving as a lobbyist for the St. Bernard Parish Port. He was a devoted and lifetime parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Violet, LA, an honored member of the Knights of Columbus and he devoted much of his time teaching Catechism and serving as a lector for his church. He was well loved and will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather, brother and a friend of many, who served his community and treasured his family. Rose passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2016, at the age of 90. She was at St. Joseph Hospice Carpenter House in Baton Rouge. Loving wife of the late Anthony DiMartino and beloved mother of the late Julie DiMartino Kraft. She is survived by her son, Salvadore John DiMartino; daughter, Donna DiMartino Fraiche; and her devoted son-in-law, Doctor John F. Fraiche. Adoring grandmother of Justin Anthony Kraft; Doctor Geoffrey Michael Fraiche (Doctor Laura Webb); and Doctor Ariane Michele (“CoCo”) Fraiche. Great-grandmother of Logan, Garrett and Jack Finnley Fraiche. Daughter of the late Marguerite Campagna Batchelona and John Batchelona. Rose was a lifelong resident of Arabi, St. Bernard Parish, until Hurricane Katrina, thereafter residing in Ascension and East Baton Rouge Parishes. During World War II, she worked at the then U.S. Weather Bureau as a key punch operator. After the war, she was married to Anthony, a Naval war veteran, until his death. Rose was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints, gardener of beautiful roses, chef of Italian cuisine, canasta player and was a crossword puzzle expert. Former Chalmette resident, Richard E. Boyce, died on September 7, 2016 at his home in Livingston, LA where he has lived since Katrina. Richard is survived by his son, Rik Boyce; two sisters Sharon and Diana; 11 nieces; and four nephews. A burial service was held at Louisiana National Cemetery on Friday, September 23, 2016 in Zachary, LA. He was buried with full military honors due to his 30-year army national guard career.

Terry was born on September 12, 1982 in New Orleans, LA, and was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish. He was a former deputy for the New Orleans Police Department and St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office, and was currently working at Ray Brandt Nissan in Harvey, LA. Terry enjoyed fitness and working out. He was a loving and devoted father who truly enjoyed spending time with his family. Terry will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his family and friends.
