Laurie Ann Barrow of Covington, LA, and formerly of St. Bernard Parish; passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at the age of 63. Laurie was born November 16, 1956 to her parents, the late John Louis Hebert and her mother Marie Camille Barrosse of Covington, LA. Besides her mother, Laurie is survived by a daughter Christy Ann Triolo (Mark) of Independence, LA ; three sons also of Covington, LA: Gary Barrow, Jr. (Vivian West), Shawn Barrow (Sarah), Tim Barrow, Sr.; daughter-in-law Kelly Dobson Barrow of Madisonville, LA ; five grandchildren: Gary Vincent, Kallie “Wallie,” Laney Danielle, Josh and Timmy “TT Bunny.” As well as numerous friends, Laurie is also survived by her precious pet dog, Abby. Relatives and friends attended a memorial gathering and service held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA. Nicholas “Nick” Jerry Colletti, a proud Veteran of the U.S. Navy who proudly served his country, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at the age of 95. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Nick had touched in some way throughout his very memorable life. He was the beloved husband of the late Joy Aucoin Colletti for 70 years. Loving father of Julie Pourciau, Nick Colletti Jr. (Janice), Ricky Colletti and the late Jane Hoover (Jesse). Son of the late Nicholas Colletti and Pearl Seruntine Colletti. Brother of the late Amy Brady, Joseph Colletti, Rose Mary Colletti, Rene Ralph Colletti and Agnes Elaine Colletti. Proud grandfather of Jennifer, Stephanie, David, Michael, Nicole, Natalie, Tonya and Ricky Jr. and 12 great grandchildren. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Nick was born on February 7, 1925 in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish, currently residing in St. Amant, LA. He truly enjoyed life through his passions of hunting, fishing and hand-crafting amazing bottles of wine that he shared with his family and friends. He found pleasure in the details of everyday life and caring deeply for others. Nick will always be remembered for his loyalty and dedication to his country, his family, his loving spirit, his laughter, and spoiling the grandchildren. He was a wonderful example of what it means to care for others and will be deeply missed by us all. Gerard Mullet, a resident of Kenner, LA, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020 at the age of 64. He was the son of the late Lena Culotta Mullet and the late Albert “Butz” Mullet, Sr. He was the brother of Albert Mullet, Jr. (Cindy) and uncle of Andrew Mullet. Loving Godchild of Rosemary F. Buras (Larry), and devoted Godfather of Lynell B. Duplechain (David), and Hannah, David, and Ava Duplechain; cousin of Laurie Guinot (Guy), Guy Guinot, Jr. (Charlotte), Shelby, Larry Buras, Jr. (Genia), Brendan (Kim), Arielle, Garrett, Luke, and Joel; and nephew of Anna C. Colombo (Tony). He also leaves behind many cousins from Victor Street; his dear friends Karen Vairin and Karen Nikula; his neighbors from the Avant Garde Condos; the employees of Jos A. Bank Clothiers; and many other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, the late Josephine M. and Philip V. Culotta, and the late Gladys and Ernest Mullet, Sr.; by his aunts, the late Theresa Fazzio, the late Dora C. Colombo (Vincent), and the late Angeline C. Mullet (Russ); and by his special friends, the late Nathan Gwin and the late Stephen Cipriano. Gerard was a lover of life. He enjoyed traveling whenever possible and always enjoyed watching LSU and Saints Football with his family and friends. He loved the Holidays, relished in Mardi Gras, but was never happier than at Christmas time when he found great joy in decorating and making his home festive. He loved working in his garden and was widely known as a great cook, making the best oyster patties and banana split pie around. Gerard was a kind man, known for taking care of his neighbors. He had a way of making sure everyone he loved felt special. He loved and cherished his family, and never tired of spoiling them or showering them with gifts. His absence will be felt for many years to come, and he will be forever missed, and forever loved. Barbara Dielenschneider Alfonso

Barbara Dielenschneider Alfonso passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at the age of 89. Barbara was born on June 11, 1931 to the late, Victor J. and Isabella Rodriguez Dielenschneider and raised in New Orleans, LA and was a resident of St. Bernard Parish for 57 years. Barbara was the loving and devoted wife of her late husband, Sidney “Boogie” Alfonso for over 50 years. She was also preceeded in death by two brothers, Walter Dielenschneider and Lionel (Bonnie) Dielenschneider; one Sister, Jeanne Ruth Dielenschneider; two Sister-in-laws, Evelyn “Wee Wee” Gonzales and Veronica “Ronnie” Serigne; two Brother-in-laws , Rudy Alfonso and Walter “Inky” (Gertrude “Gerdie”) Alfonso ; two Nieces , Anita Alfonso and Ingrid Pomes and one Nephew, Eric A Dielenschneider. Barbara is survived by a loving surrogate “Daughter”, Anna Alfonso (Richard) Schmidt , whom she raised from the age of 9. She was the surrogate “Grandmother” of Jeannine (Will) Santos and Richard (Taylor) Schmidt IV and surrogate “Great-grandmother” of Joshua Anderson and Chloe Raye Schmidt. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Ruth Alfonso; two brother-in-laws, Ronald L “Rock” Serigne and Larry Gonzales; seven Nieces Susan (Richard) Thorne, JoAnn (Brian) Bernard, Natalie (Mathew) Meyer, Lucille Alfonso, Shelia (David) Morales, Christine Menner and Cassandra Dielenschneider and a Nephew, Ronald “Rock” Serigne. Barbara will be remembered as a kind and loving soul who never met a stranger. She loved entertaining family, spending time with as well as teaching her nieces and nephews to play board games, swimming, cooking and trips to the casino. She especially loved using her intellect and daily pitted her wits against contestants of Wheel of Fortune, Cash Cab, and, her all time favorite, Jeopardy. She will be sorely missed by family and friends of which there are many. Our family would like to express our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses at Tulane Medical Hospital Neurological Stroke Center for their excellent care of Barbara during her convalescence. Brandon Lee Heidel, born on January 7, 2003 and passed away on November 14, 2020 at the age of 17. He is the beloved son of Billy Joseph Heidel, Jr. (Heather) and Tiffany Lynn Carter (J.J. Gaspard). Adored brother of Ava Heidel, Ty Heidel, Haley Treash and Shayla Treash. Cherished grandson of Randy & Therese Lee Loftis, Billy Joseph Heidel, Sr., Daryl Carter, and the late Jackie Carter. Loved great grandson of Rita B. Lee and the late Louis J. Lee, Jr. Precious nephew of Joshua “Paran” Heidel (Jamie), Ashley “Nanny” Cook, Sean Cook, Christian Fugate, and Alan & Meghan Bodden. Dear cousin of J.J. Heidel, Layla Heidel, Luke Heidel, Sophia Banner, Piper McLemore, Ella McLemore, Sammi Bodden and Sydney Bodden. Brandon enjoyed his time playing freshman football while attending Chalmette High School, and was currently studying as a Junior at Pearl River Central High School. He enjoyed fishing and four-wheeling with his dad. He was well loved and affectionately known for his good nature and generous heart. He will be deeply missed by his family and by all those whose lives he touched. Services were held at White Funeral Home in Poplarville, MS, on Thursday, November 19, 2020.

Gayle Ann Buras passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at the age of 77. She was the beloved daughter of the late Noel Harold Buras Sr. and Ruth Dierker Buras. Loving sister of Noel Harold Buras Jr. (Golda). Aunt of Noel Buras III (Bessy) and Heidi Palmeri (Bruce). Great aunt of Jonathan Buras (Alison), Kaylie Buras, Taylor Rodriguez (J.J.), Juliane Buras, Gene Molinary, Casey Molinary, Amy James (Steven), Thomas Palmeri (Courtney) and James Palmeri (Meagan). She is also survived and fondly remembered by many greatgreat nieces & nephews, along with many relatives and dear friends. Gayle was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and was a longtime resident of Chalmette, Louisiana before settling in Bogalusa, Louisiana, following Hurricane Katrina. She enjoyed a long career serving in the Trust Department at Whitney National Bank, retiring after 35 years. She also enjoyed her memberships with the Juno Carnival Club and the AARP Chapter 5408. She was devoted to her Lord and Savior as a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Bogalusa and former member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church and St. Paul Lutheran Church. Gayle found pleasure in the details of everyday life and cared deeply for those around her. She will always be remembered for her good nature and generous heart. She will be deeply missed by her family and by all those whose lives she touched. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Daniel Miller Sr.; three brothers , Lynn Torres, Louis “Splinter” Torres and Wayne Torres ; one sister , Betty Torres Stewart and a grandchild, Vivian Miller. Louise is survived by son Paul Daniel Miller Jr. (April) of Chalmette; two daughters Tanya Miller Brownell of Chalmette and Lisa Miller (Ronald Eschete) of Poydras ; one godchild, Brett Torres of Chalmette; three brothers Albert “AJ” Torres (Gerri) of Violet, Keith Torres (Debbie) of Chalmette and Richard Torres of Chalmette; three sisters, Dolly Buckley (Danny) of Meraux, Louisa Frank of Poydras and Donna Hall (Bobby DeJean) of Tickfaw; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and close friends. Audrey Breaux Budde

Audrey Breaux Budde received her eternal wings on November 21, 2020 at the age of 93. Born in New Orleans, LA, on October 1, 1927 to parents Nolan Steven and Cecile Duffel Breaux. Audrey was preceded in death by her three brothers, Nolan Steven Breaux Jr., Frank S. Breaux and Nolan Stephen Breaux; her husband of 24 years, Milton H. Budde, Jr.; and her beloved youngest son, Keith David Budde, Sr. She was a native of New Orleans for 30 years before residing in Arabi, LA, for 53 years, where she raised her children in a quaint little home built by her husband Milton. Her life journey brought many joys, friendships and a large loving family. As a young girl, she participated in ballet and played basketball for her school, St. Joseph’s Academy. She passed on her love and passion of sports to her three sons, who were her greatest joy. You could see the adoration she had for them throughout her home, where many of her walls and shelves were decorated with their photographs and awards. Even their trophies were displayed neatly upon the top ledge of the family room windows, where all the passerbys could see her pride in their success. She loved holiday and family get-togethers, passing out the grandkids’ Christmas presents from oldest to youngest, cooking black-eyed peas and cabbage on New Year’s Day for luck and prosperity and calling her grandkids and great-grandkids every year for their birthday to sing “Hap-py berth-day-to-you!” Any chance to spend time with her family was important to her and being with family were some of her happiest memories. Audrey was a great cook, known for her homemade red beans, Cajun gumbo, chicken pot pie and so many more delicious recipes, which were passed down to her family and are still enjoyed by them today. Audrey retired from D. H. Holmes Department Store, where she served as Head Supervisor in the children’s clothing department for approximately 20 years. She is survived by her sons, Don and Steven Budde, Sr. and daughters-in-law Nancy Warren Budde, Gail Tedesco Budde and Juanita Bordelon Budde. Her nine grandchildren Kevin, Steven Jr., Keith Jr. (Cara), Kelly, Daniel Sr., Jason (Rachelle), Crystal (Michael), Melissa, Aaron (K’Dionne), and her 18 great-grandchildren Emily, Kilian, Cade, Daniel Nolan Jr., Koby, Cody, Joseph, Abigail, Tyler, Addisyn, Kinlee, Brayden, Leilah, Kelsea, Ian, Payton, Jude, Finn, as well as nieces and nephews. Audrey was a devoted wife, mother and friend who will be greatly missed. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the St. Oaks Care Center staff, in Carriere, MS, and to the nursing staff of Solace Hospice Inc., for their kindness, love and care during Audrey’s stay, especially in her final days. A Memorial Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 4, 2020 in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119. Michael David Drago

Michael David Drago was welcomed into the Kingdom of God November 17, 2020. He was a current resident of Mandeville, Louisiana and spent his first 32-years in St. Bernard Parish, relocating after Katrina. Michael spent his childhood in Arabi where he attended St. Robert Bellarmine Elementary School. He was the son of Charles Drago Sr. and Marie Drago and a loving sibling of Charles Drago Jr. (Jennifer) and Gina Moreno (Edward). He took pride in his nieces and nephew Oliva Moreno, Drago Moreno, and Bella Drago. He will be missed by his many cousins. Michael loved his big family and their gatherings. He worked many years in the grocery business with Winn Dixie and Rouses where he enjoyed meeting people and helping his customers. He loved making friends and greeted everyone with a smile. Michael was a dedicated member of his Church, serving many of his younger years in Arabi as an altar server and later as an usher at Mary Queen of Peace Church. He was avid sports enthusiast and a devoted Saints fan. Relatives and friends attended a Memorial Service on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1501 W. George Nelson Guild, Jr.

George Nelson Guild, Jr., M.D. was born in Hattiesburg, MS, on February 11, 1943, and passed away peacefully on November 20, 2020 at Ochsner Hospital at the age of 77. He was preceded in death by his parents George Nelson Guild Sr., and Word Maybelle Henderson Guild, and also by his sister Gene Sheffield. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Judy Lynn Burnthorn with whom he spent 21 adventurous years. He is the beloved father of Monique Virginia Guild, Vanessa Borg Guild and George Nelson Guild III, M.D. (Nora). He is the proud grandfather of Charlee Lane Guild and George Nelson Guild IV. He is the brother of Word Guild. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives, dear friends and especially his cousin, who he loved as a brother, Ed Dunn. George was an avid spear fisherman, scuba diver and snow skier. He loved to attend corridas and was an accomplished flamenco and blues guitar player. He loves his Lord Jesus Christ. One of his favorite pastimes as his illness required medical treatment was to ask his medical professionals if they were Christian and would they join in prayer with him. He was well loved and will surely be missed by his surviving family and friends and all the lives he touched. Robert Washington, Sr., of Prairieview TX, and formerly St Bernard Parish, LA, passed away on November 20, 2020 in Waco, TX, at the age of 69. Son of the late Walter and Daisy Phoenix Washington, Sr., he was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Rickey Washington. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Malissa Scott Washington; sons Robert, Termain, Jesse (Rene), and DeMar Washington; daughter Cheryl Washington and stepson Terrance Kannar; godchild Tara Brooks; brothers Edward, Perry, Michael, and Wallace Washington; sisters Betty Hunter, Claudia Brown, Carol Bentley, Lynette Rhome, Jacqueline Jackson, Sandra Washington, Mary and Patricia Phoenix; thirteen grandchildren; nieces; nephews and cousins. He retired from Hackley Rail in 2017. Private ceremony followed.

Alan George Bouterie passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at the age of 64. He was the cherished husband of Debra Barousse Bouterie for 41 years. Loving father of Alan George Bouterie Jr. (Shelley). Son of the late Frederick H. Bouterie and Lorraine Carreras Bouterie. Brother of David F. Bouterie (Deborah). Proud grandfather of Gavin A. Bouterie, Brody P. Bouterie, Aubrey G. Bouterie and Riley J. Bouterie. Also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, colleagues and friends. Alan was born on December 25, 1955 in New Orleans, LA and was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish. He graduated from Chalmette High School in 1973 and received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of New Orleans. Alan went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School in 1985. He was a founding partner of the Bouterie Law Firm APLC and has been a practicing lawyer for 35 years. Alan served as Treasurer of the St. Bernard Parish Bar Association for over 30 years. He was licensed to practice law in all LA District Courts, all LA Appellate Courts, LA Supreme Court and Federal Court for the Eastern District of LA. He was a friend to the entire legal community. He loved to travel and attend concerts and especially enjoyed spending his weekends watching his four grandchildren do what they loved from baseball to basketball to soccer and dance competitions. He will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father and dedicated Gramps and deeply missed by his family, friends and all of those whose lives he touched. Frank James Coupel, Sr., passed away on December 4, 2020 at the age of 72. Frank was born on April 8, 1948 in New Orleans, LA. He was a resident of St. Bernard Parish until 2005 and a resident of Denham Springs for the past 15 years. Frank served in the United States Air Force and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. Survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathleen Gillan Coupel, one son, Frank Coupel, Jr., two daughters, Michelle Coupel Schubert (Bobby) and Christine Coupel Martinez (Brian) and six grandchildren, Blake, Zachary and Luke Schubert, Cody and Brianna Martinez, and Chad, three brothers, Wayne, Keith, and Rene Coupel, four sisters, Sandra C. Wixom, Monica C. Buras, Annette C. Beal and Marilyn C. Bridges. Frank was preceded in death by his father, Rene James Coupel, and his mother, Rita Gilchrist Coupel. On Saturday, December 5, 2020, the butterflies gathered to guide the soul of Viola D’Antoni Toussel Dufrene to heaven at the age of 91. She was the daughter of the late Rachel Baham and Frank D’Antoni and Stepdaughter of the late Edward H. Toussel. She was the beloved wife of the late Acklin J. Dufrene since May 20, 1944. Beloved Mother of Harry A. Dufrene (Cindy) and Patricia D. Schneider (John). Half-sister of Gerald D’Antoni (Roz). Grandmother of Brett J. Schneider (Rose), Tiffany Eagles (J.D.), Bart Dufrene (Tuyet), Jonathan Dufrene (Kelly), and Lauren Dufrene. Great Grandmother of Steven Eagles, Brittanie Rachel Schneider, Blade Schneider, Cheyenne Viola Eagles, Gabrielle Eagles, Jon David Dufrene, and Jakob Dufrene. Great Great Grandmother of Jude Eagles and Avery Eagles. Viola was the co-owner, along with her daughter Patricia Schneider, of Tiffany’s Flower Shoppe in Violet LA. She was a lifelong resident of Arabi and St Bernard LA, until Katrina, she then moved to Terrytown, LA. She would like to thank her many friends and the Terrytown Golden Agers for their friendship. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, December 12, 2020 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. A Funeral Mass will begin at 12 p.m. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. Bonalyn “Bonnie” Levis Burkert

Bonalyn Levis Burkert died peacefully on Friday, December 4, 2020 at the age of 94. Bonnie was the oldest child of Walter J. and Thelma Roy Levis and was born in New Orleans on January 4, 1926. She was raised in Arabi, and, after Katrina, she relocated to Lafayette. She was married to Norman J. Burkert on October 21, 1950. They had two daughters. Bonnie enjoyed sewing, gardening, playing cards, and dancing. Bonnie is survived by daughters Beverly B. McMinn and Cheryl B. Perry (Michael Sr.). She has seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren: Michael and Margie McMinn and Gwenneth; Nicholas and Ashley Guidroz and Ethan, Benjamin, Katherine, William, and Andrew; T.J. and Anna McMinn and James; Seth and Kathryn McMinn and Olivia and Matthew; Blake and Brook McMinn and Blakely; Michael Jr. and Nikki Perry; and Chad Perry. Bonnie is also survived by her sister Lynne L. Hart (Edwin) of Las Vegas, NV, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bonnie is predeceased by her husband Norman J. Burkert; her parents Walter J. and Thelma Roy Levis; her siblings Kathleen L. Cazaubon, Walter J. Levis Jr., Betty L. Ansardi, and Ronald J. Levis; and nieces Paula C. Levis and Kathy C. Dauterive. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Avanti Senior Living and Grace Hospice for the loving care they provided to Bonnie. We greatly appreciate that she received the best care possible. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020, at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM. A funeral service will be held in Bonnie’s memory at 1:30 PM.

Edna May Drees Fos entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at the age of 93. She was the beloved wife of the late John B Fos, Jr. Preceded in death by her Mother and Father, Clotilde and Robert Drees, sister Hazel Doussa, brother Robert Drees, and grandchild Clint Fos. Loving mother of Roger (Janine), John III (Susanne), and Karen Jackson (James). Also survived by a brother (Joseph Drees), six grandchildren (Kelly, Dana, Tina, Chad, Melissa, Ross), eight great-grandchildren (Nicholas, Greyson, Alexandra, Gabrielle, Gyllian, Kayla, Hailey, Jase), and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Edna will be fondly remembered and missed by all who knew her. She loved spending time with and cooking Sunday dinners for her family, playing bingo, and listening to music with her Ashton Manor friends. She was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish and a current resident of St. Charles Parish. The family would like to thank Ashton Manor and Haydel Hospice for their love, support, and care for Edna and her Family. Due to the coronavirus, she will have a private graveside service. Ruth M. Gebbia

Ruth M. Gebbia, a proud resident of St. Bernard Parish who was displaced by Katrina and currently of Maryland; died peacefully with family at her side on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the age of 94. She was the daughter of the late Antonio M. Martinez, Sr. and Mary F. Denley. Ruth enjoyed 54 years of a loving marriage to her late husband, Charles J. Gebbia. Ruth is beloved by their three children Diane Boyea, David Gebbia, and Debra Armond, daughter-in-law Lucy Gebbia, son-in-law Guy Armond, and late son-in-law Ron Boyea. Ruth dearly loved her six grandchildren Holli Hayman (Jason), Brad Armond (Alex), Kelsey Longhenry (Dustin), Lindsay Clark (Jon), Mary Gebbia, and Ross Armond (Grace) and her three great-grandchildren, Chase and Addison Hayman, and Caden Clark. Ruth will be remembered as a kind and loving soul, who was the quintessential homemaker. Ruth was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Church and was a member of the Altar Ladies for over 30 years. Ruth was also a member of the St. Bernard Homemakers Club. Ruth enjoyed sewing, making many outfits for her grandchildren, crafting, decorating cakes, gardening and watching her daily soap operas. She also greatly enjoyed attending classes and making friends at her local senior centers in both New Jersey and Maryland. Ruth will be sadly missed by her family and friends alike. The visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday December 12, 2020, begin at 12 p.m. Noon until 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA, followed by a Catholic Funeral Mass. Interment: Private. Due to COVID-19 all those in attendance are required to wear a face mask and to practice social distancing.
