Shane William Salathe passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at the age of 39. Beloved son of Wayne Salathe and Karen Geeck Salathe. Stepson of Cynthia Salathe. Grandson of Myrle Guiteau Geeck & the late William Geeck and the late Noah Hunter & Mary Theresa Hunter. Brother of Stacey Salathe Hogan and Sherri Salathe Stelly (Nick). Stepbrother of Amanda Carter South (Timothy), Brian Lee, Eric Teele (Jade) and Macie Salathe Westmoreland (Caleb). Also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Shane was born on December 17, 1979 in Metairie, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. He was a graduate of Lynn Oaks School – Class of 1997. He was an avid baseball and football fan especially the New Orleans Saints and LSU. Shane was strong in his faith and found reward in his missionary work in Honduras. He will be forever remembered for his generosity and eagerness to help others. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all of those whose lives he touched. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, New Orleans, LA.
