Donald Jules Forrest departed this life on December 27, 2018, at the age of 90. He was born February 6, 1928 in New Orleans, LA. He was the son of the late George Tate Forrest and Maude Landry Forrest. Brother of George Tate Forrest Jr. (Lois) and the late Beverly Forrest. He was the beloved husband of the late Janis Mary Grisafe for 45 years, and loving father of Sheila Elizabeth O'Hare (Thomas), Cynthia Ann Glancy (David "Luke"), and Kent Tate Forrest (Kathy). He was the brother-in-law of Calvin Joseph Grisafe (Lynne). He is survived by two grandchildren, Jonathan Anderson Forrest and Jeremy Michael Forrest. He was a graduate of Nichols High School, and a Veteran of the US Army serving in Japan from 1945 to 1946. He obtained his certificate in Bookkeeping and Accounting from Delgado Community College. He also attended the Soule Business College in New Orleans. He worked at Godchaux's Department Store for one year, Nunn Bush Shoe Store for five years, owned and operated Donald's Variety Store for 22 years, and was employed by Domino Sugar Refinery as a lab tech for 23 years. He resided in Arabi for 42 years and in Slidell for 16 years. He will be remembered by all as a very kind, generous and loving person. A private service will be held at Greenwood Funeral Home on Canal Blvd. followed by interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
