Joy Ann Pell passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Bee Hive Home in Picayune, MS, at the age of 69. Joy was born October 16, 1951, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was the daughter of Rita Voss Heintz and James “Jim” Henry Heintz who both preceded her in death. She was one of the oldest of eight children. She is survived by her children, Paul Anthony Joseph Castiglione Jr. (Tammy), Troy Vance Castiglione Sr. (Jill) and Steven Jacob Castiglione (Brooke); her stepchildren, William Scott Pell and Kristi Pell Borden (Earl); grandchildren Alexis, Brittany, Cali, Troy Jr., Devin, Conner, Emma, Lucy, Ella, Jhett and Maxwell. She is also survived by her husband, William “Billy” Alvin Pell. They were married October 13, 1995, in a small home wedding that was filled with love. Joy, affectionately known as MeMe, was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed bowling and going to the casino and she loved her Saints. Who Dat! She retired as director at the Council of Aging in St. Bernard Parish. Joy will be deeply missed by her friends, family and all who knew her. A memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Celebration Church-Lower St. Bernard Campus, 5709 E. Judge Perez Dr., Violet, LA 70092. Just when the caterpillar thought her life was over, she began to fly. Fly high with Jesus, our sweet butterfly.
