Donald Cargo, a retired plant operator for Murphy Oil and Valero refineries entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 31, 2021. He was a native of Meraux, Louisiana. His parents, Geraldine Cargo Etienne, Joe L. Cargo, Sr., step-father, Nelson Etienne, sister Trenessa James and brother Curtis Cargo preceded him in death. Survivors include his children, La Toya, Brittny, Dontrelle, and Doneisha, three grandchildren, Avery, Zoë, and Cedric Jr., one sister, Jo Ann, three brothers Joe Jr., Terryl (Terry) and Randell Sr., a companion Lynette, a host of great nephews, great nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Donald graduated from Chalmette High School in 1979. He enjoyed working on vehicles in his spare time, serving his community, and had a heart of gold. Family and friends attended a drive-thru viewing on Friday, February 12, 2021, and a visitation and service on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Charbonnet Labat Funeral Home, 4917 E.
