Lynn Jones Christiansen passed away on June 4, 2018 at the age of 65. Lynn was born in New Orleans, she lived in Chalmette for over 40 years, and she relocated to Abita Springs, LA, following Hurricane Katrina. She was the beloved wife of her devoted husband, Alan Gerner “Doody” Christiansen for 47 years. Loving mother of Alan G. Christiansen, Jr. and loving grandmother of Cody-Alan Christiansen and Caryn Marie Christiansen. Preceded in death by her parents, Eleanor and Albert C. Jones. Survived by her sisters, Diane J. Boushie (Dennis), Holly J. Pritchard (Noah), and Cynthia J. Pritchard (Paul, late), and by her brother, Elliot Jones (Karen). Lynn was the daughter-in-law of Capt. Ejnar Gerner Christiansen, U.S.M.M., Ret., and the late Noelie Christiansen, and she was also survived by several brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lynn graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in Chalmette, and attended the William Carey School of Nursing in Long Beach, MS. Previously, she was employed by Humana Hospital in New Orleans East, and, later on, she was a candidate for the Abita Springs Board of Aldermen. For many years, Lynn was also an active runner. She also especially enjoyed the beaches of Florida, as well as boating, water skiing and being with her grandchildren. She was perhaps the most active patron of the Abita Springs Public Library, where she checked out thousands of books and DVDs. She was loved by a host of friends and relatives. Her interment was private. May she rest in peace.
