Patricia “Patsy” Planche Bopp

Patricia “Patsy” Planche Bopp peacefully passed away on December 1, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Edward Sidney Bopp for 64 years, daughter of the late Dr. Felix August Planche and Genevieve Lynch Bopp, and sister of Andree Planche. She was predeceased by two brothers –in-law, Conrad and Charles Bopp (Theresa). Patsy was the beloved Mother of Sydney Bopp Perez (Leander III), Dr. Felix Planche Bopp (Barbara), Captain Edward Michael Bopp (Susan), Eric August Bopp (Lisa), Kelly Bopp Weiss (the late Greg Weiss). She was the grandmother of Kelly Perez Dabezies (Olivier), Captain Leander Henry Perez, IV (finance, Kristin Wolfson), Amber Lynne Bopp, Mary Caitlin Weiss, Margaret Bopp Kuykendall (Frederick), Eric August Bopp, Jr., Samantha Winfield Bopp, Felix Schumann Bopp, Sydney Bopp Weiss, Gabrielle Lee Bopp, Bailey Planche Bopp, Jacob Michael Bopp, and Kylie Bopp Weiss. Great Grandmother of Olivier Clement Dabezies, Jr., Collins Perez Dabezies, Genevieve McKinnon Kuykendall, and Frederick Thurman Kuykendall, V. Patsy attended Loyola University, Ole Miss and graduated from Tulane University. She was most dedicated to her husband “Eddie” and together they lived life to the fullest traveling, Latin dancing and cherishing dinners with their many dear friends. Second to Patsy’s love for Eddie, was her love for her family. She loved spending family time with her children, and felt it important for her family to do activities together like Sunday lunch, vacations, going out dancing, etc. They were lifetime residents of St. Bernard Parish until Katrina when they relocated to the French Quarter. They were co-owners of St. Bernard Drugs, Albert & Wegmann Pharmacies, and Contesta Apartments. Patsy also served on the Boards of the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum, Odyssey House, and Methodist Hospital. The family would like to extend its deep appreciation to all of her doctors, and especially her wonderful caregivers Kerin Harris, Lolita Braxton and Michelle Johnson. Funeral Services were held on December 22, 2016 at St. Anthony of Padua Church with the mass celebrated by Monsignor Christopher Nalty. The burial was blessed by Father Dennis Hayes. Juliette K. Dardar passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 25, 2016 at her home in Violet, LA, at the age of 65. Beloved wife of the late Roland B. Dardar. Loving mother of Daniel J. Ruiz, Jr. (Melissa), Ronnie J. Ruiz, and Brad J. Ruiz (Valerie). Daughter of the late Julian Kloeber and Effie Dill Kloeber. Sister of the late Roy Kloeber, Jr. Grandmother of Ryan Ruiz, Colby Deffes, Danielle Ruiz, Brandon Ruiz, Austin Ruiz, Alexis Ruiz, and Addison Ruiz. Great grandmother of Jayden Ruiz, and Kai Deffes. Step-mother of Deanne Weaver, Destrie Gonzales, Michael Dardar, and Robin Pampos. Aunt of Sherri Quarterman and Roy Kloeber, III. Also survived by her former husband Daniel J. Ruiz, Sr. and other numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mark Vincent Domino

Mark Vincent Domino was called home on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at the age of 47. He was born on January 18, 1969 in New Orleans and was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish. Mark graduated from St. Robert Bellermine Catholic School in Arabi and Chalmette High School. He was a dedicated employee for Coastal Electric for over 20 years. Mark’s passion in life was music. A gifted musician, Mark co-wrote songs, produced soundtracks, and played several instruments. He performed with several bands including Custard Pie, Mr. Meaner, Persuasion, and Domino Effect. Mark was a kind and generous person. He never met a stranger and always looked to find the good in everyone he met. He will be sadly missed by all he loved and all who loved him. Mark is survived by his loving wife Richelle Fisher Domino and their cherished daughter, Emma Margaret Domino. He is also survived by his loving siblings; Dr. Michael Domino (Gloria), Susan Bush (Earl), Anthony Domino (Cindy), Steve Domino (Leah), Marianne Domino (Richie), and Lee Domino (Denise). Mark is the son-in-law of Michael and Debra Fisher and Kathy Huff Fisher. He is the brother-in-law of Kyle and Doug Fisher, and Debbie Fisher Wanko (Chris). Mark is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, and his special friends, Bill Laughlin and Tony St. Phillip. Mark was preceded in death by his loving parents, Angelo and Margaret Domino and his brothers, Matthew Domino and Nicholas Domino. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to TKTMJ Construction, Nulite Construction, and Wayne Danna for their overwhelming generosity. He was born on Saturday, March 4, 1950, in New Orleans, LA, to the late Marie Armagnac Gerosa and Joseph Albert Gerosa, Jr. He was a former resident of St. Bernard Parish and resided in Hammond, Louisiana. Joseph is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Clair Burleson Gerosa; daughter, Gina Marie Gerosa; sister and brother-in- law, Diane and Al Graffia; brother-in- law and sister-in- law, Raymond and Andrea Burleson; nephew and his wife, Al and Michelle Graffia; and great nephew and niece, Jeremy and Sadie Graffia. Laverne Pascal Sylvera passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the age of 80. She was the cherished wife of 50 years to the late John T. Sylvera, Sr. Loving mother of Tommy Sylvera Jr. (Debbie), Vicki Kelly (Gary), Kevin Sylvera (Rhonda) and Darrin Sylvera. Daughter of the late Frank and Camille Labat Pascal. Sister of Frank Pascal Jr. and the late Jay Pascal. Proud grandmother of Tommy III (Trisha), Troy, Tanya, Kristi (Ron), Amy (Robbie), Gary Jr., Kristen (John) and Kevin Jr. Great grandmother of Kolby, Nathan, J.T. IV, Emma, Jolie, Cody, Cali, Chloe, Sophia, Ellie, Beau, Ashton and Brooks. Aunt of Rae and Guy. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many cousins, relatives and dear friends. Laverne was a native of New Orleans, LA and a longtime resident of Chalmette, LA, before settling in Abita Springs. She enjoyed the precious years of raising her children, 30 plus years as an Avon representative, was a member in several social clubs including the Chalmations Social Club and Salvage One Social Club; was a member of the volunteer guild at St. Tammany Parish Hospital and a faithful member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church. In her later years enjoyed her getaways with friends to the casinos. She was well loved and will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and a friend of many, who treasured her family. Seth Michael Becknel

Seth Michael Beck-nel died peacefully on Dec e m b e r 12, 2016 after a long struggle with addiction at the age of 30. Seth, a proud St. Bernard Parish native, was living in West Monroe, Louisiana. He is survived by his son, Seth J. Becknel, parents David and Sheila Becknel, sisters Shanna Gonzales (Don) and Sonya Luckette (Amber) and nieces Isabella and Avery. Seth was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Nolan Jordan (Bonnie), and his paternal grandparents, Floyd Becknel (Alice). Seth was a creative soul and artist who used his talent to promote peace in the city that he loved. His death has left this world a duller place. His spirit and smile are greatly missed by those who love him.

She is survived by her devoted husband Steve Bell, of 45 years. Loving mother of Steve (Nicole), Styron and Nedra Bell. Stepmother of Ken Nolan (Kia) and Devon Jefferson. Loving sister of Emile (Verna) Robertson, Juanita Foley and Paula (Ronald)) Mott; daughter in law of Mrs. Mildred J. Washington, a proud grandmother of 12. Lorraine Marie Graffato Prestenbach passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the age of 51. She was the cherished wife of the late Thomas Prestenbach. Loving mother of Hulen Martin (Cynthia) and Brandon Martin (Latoyia). Daughter of the late Henry and Lorraine Contranchis Graffato Jr. Devoted sister of Allen Gibson (Pat), Loretta Wehmeyer (Elmer), Henry Graffato and Jules Graffato (Theresa). Proud grandmother of Jacob, Kryste, Gracie, Braleigh, Bella, Jonathan and Adam. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Lorraine was born in New Orleans, LA, and was a lifetime resident of St. Bernard Parish where she volunteered with the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 36 in Arabi. When she wasn’t caring for our brave veterans, she could also be found cheering for the New Orleans Saints. She will be forever remembered as a beloved and loyal wife, mother, grandmother and sister whom loved to spend time with her friends and family. Services were private. Fred A. Upright, age 65 of Marksville, formerly of St. Bernard and Morrisville, NC, passed away December 29, 2016 at the age of 65. Fred, also known as “Pops,” was celebrated in Chalmette, LA on January 3, 2017 at Zig’s Last Stop, (Pop’s Corner formerly). Fred was preceded in death by his father Benjamin Franklin Upright, mother Kathleen Cook, brother Jack and sister Johnsey Upright. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Peggy Maillet Upright, daughters Sherry Marrero of Lacombe and Wendy Aschebrock of Covington, sons George Ansardi of Kenner, Michael Ansardi of Portland, Bobby Joe Davison of Kenner, Mark Aschebrock of Arabi and a number of beloved family members.

Glenn Clayton Daws, Sr. passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 1:45 p.m., just short of his 81st birthday. He was a native of New Orleans and life-long resident of Chalmette until Katrina took his home in 2005. From then he spent his remaining years living with his ever close brother Matt. He lived well until the last four months when he began experiencing complications from pneumonia and congestive heart failure. He fought a courageous battle trying his hardest to remain among us. His family knew him as a loving husband, nurturing father, generous grand and great-grandfather. Growing up, Glenn had a love of sports and continued to show his support of the athletics by watching his grand and great-grandchildren play. Glenn worked hard all his life and was passionate about the automotive world as shown by his employment through the years at: Dixie Electric and Auto Parts, Auto Painting and Repairs and Quality Used Cars. He will be remembered for his zest of life especially his love of food, his funny theatrical stories (which he loved to repeat), and his generosity in helping others. Glenn is preceded in death by his wife Rosemary LaFrance Cashman, His son Glenn Daws, Jr. (Tina), his parents Robert and Stella Daws, his brothers John Zeller, Sidney Zeller, and Clarence Zeller. He is survived by his brother Matt Daws (Maria) and nephew Darrell Daws; his daughters Angela Ansardi, Colleen Gamer (Jon), Justine Daws, and Danette Simon (Ray); his grandchildren Amy Oliver (Bryan), Amber Bopp, Jamie Campbell (Ashley), Donovan Calfee (Jodie), Derek Calfee, Robby Arena, Alexandra “Rosie” Arena, Destiny Simon, and Gabriella Daws and his great-grandchildren Tyson, Noah and Pierson Oliver, Ashton and Austin “bulldozer” Campbell, Lilly, Joel and Donovan “DJ” Calfee. Clyde Enmon, Jr., formerly of St. Bernard, Louisiana, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 at his home at the age of 75. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Frank Holrath officiating. A memorial visitation for friends and family will begin prior to the service at 10 a.m. at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel. Clyde was born January 6, 1942 in Pasadena, Texas. He spent most of his adult life in St. Bernard, Louisiana. He worked at Union Texas Petroleum for 30 years and retired and moved back to Center, Texas in 2005. He enjoyed gardening, deer hunting and fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde H Enmon and W. Eldean Brawley, first wife & mother of his children Linda Francioni Enmon, second wife Peggy Carithers Enmon and his brother James Enmon. He is survived by his children: Wendy LeBlanc (Michael), Susan Poincot (Lloyd), Mel Enmon (Kirby) and Lisa Enmon. Grandchildren: Cory LeBlanc (Kathleen), Gabbie Poincot, Trey Poincot, Halie Enmon, Chelsie Enmon, Hannah Nicosia, Emily and Jake Nicosia. Great Grandchildren: Violet LeBlanc and Genevieve Morrow. Robert T. Labat, a resident of St. Bernard, passed away peacefully, at his home, surrounded by his devoted wife, Judy, his youngest daughter, Roxanne and his grandson, Jerritt, on Thursday morning, January 12, 2017, at the age of 71. He was born in Gramercy, Louisiana to the late Norman and Mary Earline Labat, and resided in St. Bernard. He served for four years in the Marine Reserves when he was younger, and was a welder by trade for many years. Robert and Judy ran a successful restaurant in Violet, LA. (Judy’s Country Kitchen) until Robert started working for St. Bernard Parish Mosquito Control, which he retired from in 2015. He stayed behind for Hurricane Katrina to help the Fire Department with search and rescue. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, and attending to his satsuma trees. He was the loving husband of Judy Couvillion Labat for 45 years. Devoted father of Robin Holcomb, her husband Clay and Roxanne Labat. Devoted brother of Janice Alessi, Norman, Wayne, Etienne and Donny Labat and the late George, Perry & Ernest Labat and Linda Jackson. Grandfather of Jerritt Labat, and Haley & Paige Holcomb. Robert will always be remembered as a kind, generous and loving man, with a terrific sense of humor and a will to live. Virginia McElroy passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the age of 80. Beloved wife of Curtis McElroy for 63 years. Loving mother of Joy Lynn Hertz, Patty Gonzales (Alfred), Terry Comeaux (John Perry), Cathy Manale (Ted) and Bonny Kerne (Errol). Daughter of the late Bert and Margaret Hanslip Vanderheyden. Sister of Dolly McPherren, Bonnie Gros and the late Lynn Vanderheyden. Proud grandmother of Kirk, Michelle, Alfred, Ginger, Scott, Nicole, Ryan, Perry Jr., Stephanie, Heidi, Ronnie, Theo, Falyn, Donald, Chavonne, Amanda, Errol Jr., Joshua and the late Joshua. Also survived by 41 great grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was born on August 2, 1936 in Gillette, Wyoming. Virginia was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish and a current resident of Picayune, MS. She was also the President of the St. Mark’s Catholic School Board and PTA in Chalmette and President of the New Orleans Archdiocese CCD. In addition, Virginia served as President and Vice President of the St. Bernard Genealogy Society. She was a genealogist and avid reader who never forgot a face or name. Nicholas James Menzato of Carriere, MS, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017, at the age of 16. A native of Chalmette, LA, he was a student at Poplarville High School. Nicholas was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend to many who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Walter William “Billy” Van Court, Jr., passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of Doris Barnes Van Court for 68 years. Loving father of Darlene Clair, Walter “Billy” Van Court, III, Lisa Bergeron, Lance Van Court (Ann), Lori Van Court, and the late Rory Van Court. Grandfather of Mary Clair, Katie Herbert, Danny Clair, Sean Clair, Jennifer Hazard, Troy Bergeron, Ashley Van Court, Stacey Van Court, Lance Van Court, Jr., Blake Van Court, Amy Tully; and 18 great grandchildren. Brother of Gloria Bauman and the late Dorothy Muth, Norma O’Rouke. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Van Court served his country in the United States Marine Corps, serving in both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, retiring as a 1st Sergeant after 22 years of service. After his retirement from the USMC, Mr. Van Court worked for the State of Louisiana Unemployment Office in both New Orleans and Chalmette, retiring after 20 years of service. Denis Jude Campo passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017, in the presence of his loving daughter at the age of 70. He was the son of the late Armon Bennett Campo and Delores Marrero Campo. Father of Michel Campo Aguilar (Luis). Proud grandfather of Logan Alexander and Lucie Alexandra Aguilar. He is also survived by, and fondly remembered, by cousin Sheri Crifasi Foret and a host of other cousins and friends. Denis was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of St Bernard. He will be deeply missed by all that knows and loved him. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the wonderful staff, nurses and caregivers at Trinity Neurologic Rehabilitation Center in Slidell. A very special thank you and much love to Ms. Judy for the amazing care and patience that you showed. Joy Miller Clavin passed away on January 17, 2017 at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Clavin, Jr., and her parents, Elvia Miller Miller and  William John Miller, Sr. She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Clavin Englert (Chuck Novitsky), Nathalie Clavin Mumphrey (Mark) and Beth Clavin Boackle (Abe); grandchildren, J. A. Randy Englert (Allison), Evan Mumphrey and Andrew and Alaina Boackle; her sister, Julie Miller Riecke (Raymond); and her brother William J. Miller, Jr. (Gayle). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Joy worked as a Legal Secretary for many years. Relatives and friends of the family attended the funeral services at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue Street, Chalmette, LA 70043, on Saturday, January 21, 2017. Doris Jastram Fillar passed away peacefully on January 18, 2017 at the age of 92. She was the cherished wife of the late George John Fillar. Loving mother of the late Johnny Raymond McDonald. Mother-in-law of Edda McDonald. Daughter of the late Rodney Jastram and Thelma Bennett Rodriguez. Sister of Margaret W. Bourgeois and the late Edward S. Winstine. Proud grandmother of Doris McDonald Ellis, Carla McDonald D’Arensbourg and the late Johnny Raymond Bennett McDonald. Devoted great-grandmother of Joshua Stephen McDonald, Zachary Stephen Cavanaugh, Meagan Ellis Palmeri, Jacob “Dink” Martinez, Donald Anthony Ellis, Jr. and Bennett Rose McDonald Oalmann. Loving great great-grandmother of Sophia McDonald, Paisley Palmeri, Jaxx Ellis and Mia McDonald. Doris is also survived and fondly remembered by members of the Bourgeois Family, Lentz Family, along with many cousins, relatives and dear friends. She will be deeply missed by her family and by all those whose lives she touched. She was well loved, and affectionately known for her good nature and generous heart. Relatives and friends attended a gathering held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home in Chalmette, LA on Monday, January 23, 2017, followed by a graveside service.
